EMMANUEL AL MIAH, Ph.D

Emmanuel Al Miah is a French-Iraqi lawyer with expertise in criminal law, international criminal law, and international affairs advisory.

 

He has gained extensive experience within prestigious law firms, governmental agencies, and international institutions such as UNESCO and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he worked in the Office of the Prosecutor. Through his roles, Emmanuel has developed a high level of expertise in legal and diplomatic matters.  

 

He has notably assisted various developing states in Africa and Latin America, including those under international sanctions, in multi-jurisdictional litigation. He has participated in complex transnational investigations, including matters involving international crimes and human rights violations.  

 

Emmanuel holds a Ph.D. in international law and, also holds two master's degrees, one in political science from Sciences Po Toulouse, and another in international security and defense law from the University of Grenoble Alpes.

 

He is actively engaged in the defense of human rights and is a published author, with In addition to his professional activities, Emmanuel is a laureate of the Institute of Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN) and the Superior Council for Strategic Training and Research (CSFRS). He also founded an organization aimed at strengthening economic and social dialogue between French and Iraqi stakeholders.

PEDRO SAGHY, Ph.D

Pedro Saghy is a legal advisor, negotiator, and specialist in international arbitration with over 20 years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in private international law from the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).

 

Pedro focuses on dispute resolution to protect the practical and commercial interests of his clients, providing strategic advice to states.   He has participated in significant public and confidential matters across numerous countries, including Venezuela, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Canada, the United States, France, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, and others.  

 

He has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, sovereign debt restructuring, as well as international arbitration proceedings. Throughout his career, he has worked in renowned law firms in Caracas and Paris, serving as a corporate legal consultant and litigator.

 

Pedro is recognized by several ranking organizations for his expertise in dispute resolution and arbitration, including Chambers Global, Chambers Latin America, Best Lawyers, and Who's Who Legal.

FIONA MANGAN

Senior Advisor, Director of Research at Justice + Security in Transitions (J+ST), Expert for the United Nations Security Council    

 

Fiona Mangan is the Director of Research at Justice + Security. She previously served as an arms expert on the United Nations Security Council Panel of Experts on the Central African Republic, which she coordinated in 2021.  

 

Fiona is also a non-resident research fellow within the Conflict Prevention and Peacekeeping pillar of the United Nations University. She served as the country representative in the Central African Republic for the United States Institute of Peace, after working at the Institute's Rule of Law Center and at the Stimson Center.  

 

She has held positions within the Irish Department of Justice, with Independent Diplomat in New York, with Lawyers Without Borders in Liberia, and with the International Stability Operations Association in Washington, D.C.

 

Fiona holds an LL.M. from Columbia University, a master's degree in conflict, security, and development from King's College London, and a law degree from University College Dublin.

ROBERT KLUIJVER

Senior Advisor, Specialist in Armed Conflicts and Global Assistance Programs, Lecturer at Sciences Po, Ph.D. in Political Science

 

Robert is an associate researcher at the Center for International Studies (CERI) of Sciences Po, where he studies the relationships between the state and society in conflict zones.

 

He possesses extensive field experience in Central Asia, Afghanistan, the Middle East, and the Horn of Africa.   He has worked for institutions such as the UN, the EU, and the World Bank, as well as NGOs, donors, and consulting firms.

 

His specialties include geopolitical analysis, humanitarian interventions, governance in contested areas, and cultural development.

 

Robert holds a Ph.D. in international relations and a DEA in post-Soviet studies from Sciences Po Paris, as well as a master's degree in political science from the University of Amsterdam.

SHRIMAY MISHRA

Shrimay Mishra is an Indian lawyer representing clients before various courts and forums in New Delhi.

 

His areas of expertise include sovereign advisory, international arbitration, as well as substantive and procedural Indian law. He has gained diverse experience within leading legal institutions, both nationally and internationally.  

 

Shrimay has worked at the High Court of Delhi, where he assisted judges in drafting judgments.

 

He has also participated in studies on sovereign debt restructuring and investment diversification strategies for countries under sanctions or at economic risk.
